What format is the upload template?
The template is a standard .xlsx (Excel) file. It includes pre-formatted columns with headers, data type validation, dropdown lists for category and frequency fields, and sample data rows that you can delete before filling in your own data.
How many leases can I upload at once?
There is no hard limit on the number of rows. The system is designed to handle hundreds of leases in a single upload. Processing time scales linearly — typically a few seconds per batch of 100 leases.
What happens if some rows have errors?
ZapLease validates every row before creating any leases. You receive a detailed error report showing exactly which rows failed and why (e.g., missing required field, invalid date format, unrecognized category). You can fix the errors and re-upload, or choose to create only the valid rows.
Do uploaded leases go through the approval workflow?
Yes. Leases created via bulk upload follow the same maker-checker workflow as individually created leases. If uploaded by an Employee, they enter 'Pending Approval' status. If uploaded by a Company Admin, they are created directly as 'Active'.
