Frequently Asked Questions

What lease categories does ZapLease support?
ZapLease supports 9 categories out of the box: Building, Land, Plant & Machinery, Furniture & Fixtures, Vehicles, Computer Equipment, Office Equipment, Leasehold Improvements, and Others. Each category has its own reporting and grouping capabilities.
Can I set up custom payment structures?
Yes. Beyond standard escalation, ZapLease supports custom payment tiers where you can define different rental amounts for different periods. For example, ₹1,00,000 for months 1-12, ₹1,10,000 for months 13-24, and ₹1,25,000 for months 25-36.
How are amortization schedules generated?
Schedules are generated automatically when a lease is approved. The system calculates Lease Liability (LL), Right-of-Use (ROU) asset depreciation, Security Deposit (SD) amortization, and Asset Retirement Obligation (ARO) schedules based on your input parameters and IFRS 16 / Ind AS 116 requirements.
What happens when a lease expires?
When a lease reaches its end date, it is automatically moved to 'Expired' status. All remaining balances are settled in the final period's amortization entries, and the lease becomes read-only in reports.
